BEINECKE LIBRARY DIRECTIONS

From the New Haven Green
Walk north on College Street to Wall Street. Turn left on Wall Street. Enter the plaza on the right in the middle of the first block. The Beinecke Library is the large white marble and gray granite building facing east.

From outside New Haven
Take Interstate 95 (North or South) to Interstate 91 North (toward Hartford). Proceed on Interstate 91 to Exit 3, Trumbull Street. Follow the exit ramp directly onto Trumbull Street and continue three city blocks to the intersection of Prospect and Trumbull Streets. Turn left onto Prospect Street. Travel for one block to the intersection of Prospect, College, and Grove Streets. Limited parking is available on Grove and College Streets. Walk south on College or High Streets to reach the library’s entrance on Wall Street.

From outside Connecticut
New Haven is located on the shore of Long Island Sound. The city is served by Tweed-New Haven Airport. The closest international airports are New York City's LaGuardia and Kennedy airports, New Jersey's Newark International Airport, and Hartford/Springfield's Bradley International Airport. Shuttle service to New Haven is available at each of those airports. Amtrak has daily service to New Haven's Union Station from Boston and Washington DC. Metro North has hourly service from New York's Grand Central Station. New Haven provides bus service to the Green from the train station and the Shore Line East Commuter Connection stops at several points on or near campus.

Parking
There is limited metered street parking on Hillhouse and Sachem Streets. Parking meters accept quarters or parking vouchers may be used. There is one public parking lot, Lot 16V, within easy walking distance at Whitney and Humphrey Street. To reach this visitor parking lot: Once you are traveling on Trumbull Street, make a right at Whitney Street. You will pass the Peabody Museum, at the corner of Whitney and Sachem Street. The next stop light is Humphrey Street. Turn left into lot and make an immediate right into Lot 16V. There is a walking path that will take you from the parking lot, behind the Peabody Museum, and come out at Sachem Street, accross the street from the 55 Hillhouse Avenue mansion. The New Haven Traffic & Parking Department can provide more information on parking in the city and a map.

 

GENERAL MOTORS ROOM, 55 HILLHOUSE AVENUE DIRECTIONS:

The General Motors Room is located in the mansion at 55 Hillhouse Avenue on the Yale University School of Management campus in New Haven, Connecticut.

By Car
The best way to reach the General Motors Room, 55 Hillhouse Avenue when driving from any direction is via Trumbull Street, Exit 3, Interstate 91.  Ramp veers around onto Trumbull Street.  Drive west on Trumbull Street, crossing Orange Street and Whitney Avenue to Hillhouse Avenue. Turn right onto Hillhouse Avenue and drive north one block. The 55 Hillhouse mansion is on the right at the end of the street.
From New York and points south on I-95: Upon reaching New Haven, bear left onto I-91; continue north on I-91 a short distance to Exit 3, Trumbull Street. 
From New York via the Merritt Parkway: Cross over to I-95 at Milford (Exit 54). Upon reaching New Haven, bear left onto I-91; continue north I-91 a short distance to Exit 3.
From Tweed-New Haven Airport and points east: Take I-95 south. Upon reaching New Haven, turn right onto I-91; continue north on I-91 a short distance to Exit 3.
From Hartford and points north: Drive south on I-91 to Exit 3.
