DJVU

What is DjVu?

DjVu is a new compression scheme developed by AT & T Research labs. It is designed specifically for encoding textual documents using wavelet technology. This provides high compression ratios with smaller loss of detail than the equivalent sized jpeg or pdf file.

DjVu also provides a system for linking document pages together allowing indivudual pages to be viewed without the need to download the whole document (unlike the pdf format), so viewing documents online is much faster.

Installing the Viewer

The viewer is provided as a web browser plugin by LizardTech. The plugin can be downloaded from here.

Searching DjVu Documents

Currently we don't support searching the text contained within the DjVu documents. We hope to be able to add this feature soon.

Problems

Any problems with the plugin should be directed to LizardTech.
