ICF RESEARCH INITIATIVES

Behavioral Finance
Behavioral Finance is one of the most exciting and controversial areas of research in Economics. It focuses on the psychology and behavior of individual economic agents, and explores the implications for asset pricing, regulation and management.

China
The Yale SOM initiative on capital markets, institutions and governance in China is a program to study the history and current issues of market development, and to disseminate ideas for further economic and institutional reforms in China. This webpage is available in both English and Chinese. Click here to view the English Website. Click here to view the Chinese Website.

Corporate Finance
This Yale ICF research initiative is a program that actively studies a range of issues related to corporate finance from corporate governance and corporate control to investment banking and global issues.

Corporate Governance
The Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at the Yale School of Management is designed to be the leading research, teaching and policy center focused on the institutional framework for corporate governance, and the principles and practices of effective corporate governance. The Millstein Center will help meet the needs of practitioners in the private and public sector who face the challenge of reforming corporate governance frameworks and practices in a borderless world, by promoting innovation, and the exchange of ideas and experience.

Hedge Funds
The Yale ICF hedge fund research initiative is a program to actively investigate hedge funds as an asset class and the range of issues related to their management.

Financial History
The goal of the collection is to identify securities that represent important innovations in financial markets. Many of the pieces in the exhibit represent a new method of raising capital, or a special event or period in capital market history. While interesting historically, the stories they tell are never-the-less pertinent to the global markets of today. Each piece in the collection is, in effect, a contract between a company or country and an investor. The design of these contracts were in some cases remarkably creative and some of the securities had a lasting impact -- not only on world finance, but on global politics.

Home Equity Protection Project
Home Equity Protection (HEP) is an innovative product that makes it safer for people to invest in a home. It guarantees homeowners that if the housing market declines in the area where they live, they will be protected for part or all of that loss. By providing this protection, HEP also helps to attract and retain homeowners in neighborhoods where there is a concern that property values might go down.

Real Estate
The Yale ICF real estate research initiative is a program that actively investigates residential real estate as an asset class and the range of issues related to their management. The current research agenda includes: Home Equity Protection project, Property Valuation, Risk Analysis, Securitization.
